Kewpie at The Seaside Soiree!

The Weekly Challenge for Paper Imagery for June 15th was the BEACH or SEA theme.kewpie at seaside soiree 4I choose to once again do something with my last kewpie image from Paper Imagery Designs aka PID, Kewpie collage sheet. I have always loved and will always the sweet and enchanting faces of the Kewpie Doll.

-ATC chipboard slabs 2.5 by 3.5 (PID)
-Kewpie collage sheet # 246 (PID)
-Dresden trim(light blue German foil scrap, serrated border) (PID)
-Card stock scrap for layering Kewpie image
-Vintage book page (for background)
-Model magic-white
-Pearls (faux crafty kind)
-Brass or gold craft charm
-Lace trim, light green color
-Velvet trim, light blue
-Floral wire, white
-Stickles, Tiara color (PID)
-Glitter, metallic orange
-Acrylic paints: light aqua and antique metallic gold (Plaid)
-Rhinestone strand or mini rhinestones
-Glue: tacky glue, gel medium, hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
-Tools: Scissors, wire pliers

1. Brush a coat of gel medium onto the chipboard and layer a book page onto it, cut to fit. Paint thick stripes onto the background w/light aqua.
2. Layer kewpie image onto card stock scrap w/gel medium, let dry, cut out and attach to center of atc w/hot glue.
3. Draw a mermaid shape onto the atc attaching at kewpie's waste, cover fin w/gel medium and fill in with model magic, while fresh attach pearls by pushing in pearls into it. For wand, thread floral wire w/pearls, attach to atc. Now attach rhinestones to kewpie's waste using hot glue.
4. Make an arch out of white floral wire, thread 2 pearls onto it, hot glue to top sides of atc, make a banner out of the end of a book page, hot glue to top of arch.
5. Hot glue dresden trim to bottom of atc, hot glue lace to top of atc, then hot glue velvet ribbon on top of lace.
6. Push a small amount of model magic into a brass charm, pop out, hot glue to middle of lace at top of atc, paint with antique metallic gold paint, sprinkle orange/gold glitter over it while still wet.
7. Glitter the sides of the atc, the kewpies head, the banner and add dots to kewpie and a "S" to banner w/tiara stickles.

-If you don't have model magic, use paper clay.
-Replace clay charm with a brass charm instead.
-Use a crystal bead for the top of the floral wire arch, I used an old barrett piece for that.

Otherwise have some fun and make an underwater adventure of your own!
